The German Shepherd alias Blackback, the world’s third highest canine IQ, was not born as a pet dog, but was initially domesticated as a hunting dog, with an IQ equivalent to that of a 5-7 year old child. Most of the German Shepherd is used for work, police dogs, search and rescue, blind guides, shepherd ornamental are his strong points, is an excellent personal bodyguard.

That’s an interesting piece of cold knowledge! German Shepherds are indeed very intelligent and I have one myself. When it comes to their abilities as police dogs and search and rescue dogs, I really admire them. I have found that when training them, you need to use more positive rewards and they respond exceptionally fast. If you have a German Shepherd, make sure they get plenty of exercise and mental stimulation so they will be healthier and happier.
