Ancient turtle farming is not good, and those who engage in it are poor people who can’t afford to keep turtles.

I’m sure many of you have heard this statement before, so is ancient turtle farming good or bad? The blogger did try it, so this installment is about the real experience.

Let’s start with the pros.

Ancient turtle farming is actually the ecological environment of the wild after reducing the allocation moved to the home, as long as the water ecosystem is stabilized, is only need to replenish and do not need to change the water. Let’s talk about the downside.

3, Demanding of turtles. The three cold-water turtles I have are rough, but any aquatic plants planted in the tank can be uprooted in less than three days and nibbled to the bone.

We all know that water quality is quite important in an ancient eco-tank, and if the plants are gone, naturally the ecosystem will collapse. However, the blogger found that using volcanic rocks to pave the bottom, adsorb food scraps and turtle feces, plus filtration, the effect is quite good.

At least it suits my cold water turtles, and the addition of protein cotton in the filter box also keeps the water clear. Currently it has lasted for two months, only adding water and not changing water, but the filter box still needs to be cleaned regularly. Of course the blogger can imagine how strong the smell will be on the day of completely turning over the tank.
